What a splendid circa 1902 antique gown. I will be hosting Thanksgiving next week at my home and this gown feels quite appropriate for the occasion. It is made from soft light brown faille fabric and the strips of luxurious velvet. It has wonderful hand woven appliques along the neckline and sleeve cuffs

Label on the petersham reads “Weeks, 156 Boulevard Haussmann Paris.” Gown is from the Parisian designer John Weeks. Its made of silk and lace. The lace has a wonderful pattern. You can see it really well against the darkness of my dress form.
