This is one of my most special gowns I own due to the fact I have a photograph of the woman who owned this dress. Her name was Jane Kerr and lived in North West England. Born May 27th 1859. The story of this gown is that when she had the photo taken she was in the later years of mourning over her son who died at 8 months of age. The gown is from around later 1890s. The fabric is a very sturdy embossed Satin.
