Antique 1895 Victorian 2 piece ensemble. Made of dark green wool gabardine blend with a floral trim in pink yellow, gold and moss green silk chenille. The puff sleeves and collar are made of iridescent striped silk taffeta. The buttons down the center are cut steel brass Egyptian Pharaoh, possibly dating to the 1870s. The hat I paired with the gown has a label “Mme Horne, Worcester” constructed in a fine quality straw, and woven in a small straw weave with green straw lace interwoven within. It has velvet wired bows, a velvet rosette to the rear, velvet inner edging and banding around the crown. Millinery flowers with leaves are wired to the side.
