This is such an amazing museum worthy late 1890s – early 1900s antique bodice with embellishments of handmade lace, sequins, glass beads and finely pleased silk satin and chiffon ruffles. The base fabric is a black damask woven with emerald green leaves and black roses. The high collar and front placket are constructed from net embroidered with sequins and Chantilly lace ruffles, placed over an ivory silk underlay. It did not come with a skirt so I paired it with my black sequinned skirt.
